Thrive Ministries Niagara was ready to seek official recognition as a credible charity. The only hurdle left to overcome was completing the application for charitable status with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
Although they were excited at this prospect, the Director of Thrive Ministries, Cathy Gates, was feeling overwhelmed. Obtaining charitable status with CRA was a challenging task. The application process would be labour-intensive and require multiple steps for completion. It would also impose a financial burden to hire charity lawyers. And the board members were not looking forward to it.
